And when he was imprisoned, the children would visit him, and he would give them little notes, "valentines?" Birthday Gift Letters? YES!

Dear Guest,
Dolley Madison May 20, 1768

In Honor of Someone's Birthday, Every day's a Holiday! Get 'em a letter! Our Royal Decree Birthday Letters and our Birthday Lore Letters make worthy gifts. Royal Decrees declare the recipient's birthday a Royal Holiday in the Kingdom of Birthdays. They 're intended for a boy or girl from about 5 to 10, but they could work for up to Teen, they'd just be drinking soda instead of punch, probably, and the lingo might change a bit.

Cool "Papa" Bell, May 17, 1903

Our Birthday Lore Letters are customized to each individual child. You give me their birth date, whether they're a boy or a girl, and I create and mail a letter to them about someone historically significant with whom they share their birthday. Letters range from Preschool to Teen. Each letter is written with the recipient's age in mind, so they are age-appropriate and fun.

Harriet Beecher Stowe June 14, 1811

They don't only get a letter in the mail, which is cool in it's own right, but they learn about someone who is totally awesome. If that's not enough, that someone has a birthday on the same day they do! PLUS! It's not just a letter! It's a Birthday gift from you! The Birthday Lore Letters take a couple weeks in order to do the proper research.

Jimmy Stewart  May 20, 1908

The letters include pictures, and they are quite unique. Most are prior to early 20th century with expired copyrights. Some are much older. But in any event, they are all in the Public Domain. They are printed on Ecopaper's 100% PCW Recycled Banana Paper, which comes from the slash piles left from banana harvests. They arrive with a golden seal and a small white gift card that will let them know the letter is a gift from you.
John Ringling May 31, 1866

It's easy! Just go to our Birthday Page where you can see sample letters underneath the shopping carts for the Royal Decrees and the Birthday Lore Letters. Scrolling down you'll see a Royal Decree for a five-year old girl and one for a boy. Below that you will see letters written for kids that share birthdays with Dolley Madison, Jimmy Stewart, Cool "Poppa" Bell, John Ringling and Harriet Beecher Stowe. Each Letter is $15.00.

Thanks for stopping by Letters of Lore.

Very Truly Yours,
Andi

Deadline for Easter Letters is Sunday, April 13

Dear Reader

Check out our Easter Letters by clicking on the Easter link above. There are Secular and Religious Letters. We begin with Rebus and Acrostic Poem Letters for our youngest readers. Letters grow in sophistication, when our Classic Teen Letter takes us to Oberammergau for a week long Passion Play held only once every ten years.

Children learn not only about the secular or religious origins of Easter, but they can possibly earn extra credit in science! Did you know that when you place an egg on it's bottom on the Vernal Equinox, it will simply stand there and not fall over?

Letters are $15.00. All are personalized, except for the Rebus and the Acrostics, printed on 100% Post Consumer Waste Recycled Banana Paper, complete with Golden Seal, and mailed directly to the recipient.

**If an image is blurry, please let me know at lettersoflore@gmail.com, and I'll send you a copy. The copies, and hard copies, are clear as a bell; it's just the images to the blog, which are blurry. grrrrr. Shipping is always free! Last Day to order Saint Patrick's Day Letters is Tuesday, March 11

Dear Reader

Saint Patrick's Day is right around the corner! You might not think of Saint Patrick's Day as a Gift-Giving Holiday, but when it's a worthy gift, how can you go wrong? We have Rebus and Acrostic Poems for our youngest readers, Letters for Elementary Kids, those for Tweens, and our Classic Teen Letters. Adults think they're cool, too.

Did you know that leprechauns have an occupation? They're cobblers; they make Fairy shoes. They keep the gold they are paid in a pot at the end of a rainbow.

Saint Patrick was born, "Magonus Sucatus Patricius", in Britannia, son to a wealthy Roman Governor. He was kidnapped as a teenager, and taken back to Ireland. He didn't run the snakes out of Ireland; there weren't any there to begin with. They don't like the dirt.

Kids can learn about the Potato Famine and the first St. Patrick's Day Parade ever held in the States.

If you have trouble reading a font, email me at lettersoflore@gmail.com, and I'll shoot you a clear copy. Transferring to the site affects the resolution. The Letters, themselves, are clear.

All Letters are Personalized, except for the Acrostic Poems, and mailed directly to the recipient, complete with Golden Seal. Check out "My FAQ and Me" for further information.

Thanks for choosing Letters of Lore for your worthy Holiday and Birthday Gifts!

Very Truly Yours
Andi
